Celebrating our National Summer Games 2013

Almost 1200 athletes around the country with intellectual disabilities competed at Special Olympics New Zealand’s eighth National Summer Games in Dunedin.

Here is their 'Thank You' to our amazing team of volunteers....

Thank you to Motion Sickness Studio in Dunedin for putting this together.

The Games, held every four years, was the largest regular sports event for people with intellectual disabilities in New Zealand.

Athletes selected from Special Olympics’ 46 Clubs and schools around New Zealand competed in 10 Olympic-style sports including aquatics, athletics, basketball, bocce, equestrian, football, golf, indoor bowls, powerlifting, and tenpin bowling.

They were supported by around 400 volunteer coaches and managers, 100 health clinicians, 20 sports officials, and hundreds of family and friends.
